Video Poker Overview

Video Poker is a Classic 5-card draw video poker with 99.5% RTP and low volatility. The maximum multiplier is 800x, making it a balanced game that offers consistent returns with occasional larger wins. Every outcome is provably fair — verified through HMAC-SHA256 cryptography.

Top Strategy Tips

1. Always hold a pair of Jacks or better — it's the minimum paying hand.

2. Never break a made hand (two pair or better) to chase a flush or straight.

3. Hold 4 cards to a flush over a low pair (below Jacks) — the flush draw has better EV.

4. Keep high cards (J, Q, K, A) even when unpaired — they can form paying pairs on the draw.

5. Optimal strategy reduces the house edge to just 0.5%. Study the strategy chart for maximum returns.

Understanding the Odds

From a 52-card deck, 5 cards are dealt. You choose which to hold, and replacements are drawn. Hand probabilities vary by hold strategy. Royal Flush: ~1 in 40,000 with optimal play. Full House: ~1 in 87. Jacks or Better pair: ~1 in 5. With perfect strategy, the game returns 99.54% (Jacks or Better paytable).

Bankroll Management

With a 0.5% house edge, Video Poker will cost you about 0.5 coins per 100 wagered over the long run. To survive variance: never bet more than 2% of your total bankroll on a single deal. If your bankroll is 1,000 coins, keep bets at 20 or below. Set a stop-loss at 30% of your session bankroll and a win target at +50%. When you hit either limit, stop and reassess.

House Edge Explained

Video Poker has just a 0.5% house edge (99.5% RTP) with optimal strategy — the best odds in the casino. The paytable (1x for Jacks+, 2x for Two Pair, up to 800x for Royal Flush) is tuned so perfect play returns 99.5 cents per dollar. Most players don't play perfectly, so the effective house edge is higher.

Provably Fair Verification

Every hand in Video Poker is cryptographically predetermined before you deal. A full 52-card deck is shuffled using a Fisher-Yates shuffle seeded by HMAC-SHA256(server_seed, client_seed:nonce). The first 5 cards are the deal, and the next cards are the draw replacements. The entire deck order is fixed before the hand starts. Visit the Fairness page to verify any past result.
